My performance task for this assignment centers around the idea of rate of change in Calculus. I am currently teaching an AP Calculus course and I am trying to get the students to think about the many different applications for rate of change and the derivative. I would like to create a task that asks the students to explore this topic in a novel way with a different application than they have seen before, so that they can apply the concepts they know about derivatives and rate of change to a novel topic.
